League Rules

The GCO Top-20 Tour is an 18-hole traveling fall golf league for men playing for ten Saturdays mornings beginning in mid September through late November or until the weather falls below 40 degrees. Tee times begin around 9 a.m. This 18-hole league competes at courses on the golfclevelandohio.com Top-20. This is the 8th year. The basic idea is to keep the serious golfers active during the late season when it becomes hard to find someone to golf with. If you do not mind playing golf in September, October and November, this league is for you. We will try to spread the courses all around the Greater Cleveland area so you might drive 15 minutes to a course one week or 45 minutes the next, depending on where you live. We will be teeing from the box at around 6600 yards. The maximum 18 hole handicap is 26 and we will be using the USGA formula for the handicaps. So if you have trouble breaking 100, this might not be for you. We do have some opening for new players. GCO Fall Golf LeagueWe are looking to carry a league of about 26 to 32 members.

The league dues are $41.00 and there will be a $5.00 weekly entrance fee for each event you attend. The format will be weekly handicapped tournaments with weekly winnings. Each week, a portion of your league dues plus the entrance fees of the players is totaled into the winnings pool and paid out at the end of each week's tournament.  We will play net-low, skins, stableford, 2-man best ball, and other competitive games, but not match play. There will be no running point totals, just weekly events. So if you miss a weeks or a few weeks, it won't really matter because you only pay the entrance fee when you actually play. However, we do expect substantial attendance from members. We will track handicaps, winners, winnings, schedule and other stats on the web.  You will be required to pay your own greens fees and cart fee at the golf course and you must pay your $5 tournament entrance fee before you tee off. In addition, the GCO Top-20 Tour is a great way to qualify for the GCO Summer League by establishing your handicap and rapport with other GCO members.
