Comments: Its almost September and thought I would mentioned some courses I enjoyed. Chardon Lakes, table top fast greens, stay below the hole is a must!! Its possible your favorite putter will go home in 2 pieces. Excellent conditions, no houses, old school golf. Erie Shores in Madison is very underrated!! Not overly difficult but sneaky challenging!!In my top 3 public course greens. Small, country club speed greens, & it will sharpen your Driver & Wedge game. Very inexpensive also.Played Brookledge in Akron for the first time.Excellent variety of holes, well kept. I will be back! Ellsworth Meadows in Hudson is tremendous. Fantastic driving range, no mats & plenty of targets. Challenging layout, superior greens, and friendly staff. Hope all of you are making lots of birdies & pars for 2020.
Comments: I used to live in Lorain County and play Dragon Ranch, drove past there today saw that it was closed, is this permanent!! Played there two years ago and it was in pretty bad shape! I heard that it was sold this last year, is it going to reopen!! I really like the course when it was in good shape, it was a nice layout!! If anybody has any information, please let me know! Thank you!!!
Comments: I know I'm probably in the minority, but I'm fed up with courses that charge full rates to golfers, yet because of the state guidelines, offer less than the amenities that golfers expect for full greens fees. Without the golfers, these courses wouldn't have a business. And I'm especially perturbed with courses owner by public municipalities, who could care less about this, because if golfers choose not to play their courses, they'll just have the taxpayers subsidize any losses. And to upcharge golfers for the right to ride one per cart is ridiculous. Many seniors, as well as golfers with health problems should not have to pay "extra" to be able to golf, while trying to protect their health. I believe some golf courses (not all, because a lot have been accommodating) are using these charges to gouge the very customers their businesses rely on and using the pandemic as an excuse. Just my take.

Comments: My take on the 2019 season. Rain dominated the spring and early summer months. That's as bad of a start that I can remember!! Played some courses for the first time, Deer Ridge in Mansfield ( good layout hilly, excellent conditions, worth the drive!) Valley of the Eagles did not do much for me.Some good holes, some goofy holes, needs another year to grow in.Northstar in Delaware is worth the drive, awesome track, good conditions. Also played some of my favs, Madison, Manakiki,Boulder Creek, The Quarry, and my personal favorite Fowler's Mill!! Pete Dye design, tough as a 3 dollar steak from back tees, best greens I putted on all year!! Many birdies and pars in 2020!!

Comments: The starter at Manakiki this morning (9/20/19) about 7:30 am is a jerk and very rude. We been golfing there for over 30 yrs but today we only want to do nine holes and this idiot won't let us off the back nine before 8am. We get there at 7:15 and he wants us to wait 45 minutes. Come on now. Taking customer service to a new low. Cleveland Metroparks Golf - the bottom feeders of local golf.
Comments: Played Ridgewood in Parma. Fun course to play and was pleasntly surprised by the conditions.

Comments: Madison Country Club doesn't like walkers. We called to get a tee time for 18 walking and he said they didn't want us slowing everything down by walking. We're fairly quick players even when walking and rarely if ever need to let faster players thru. The manager guy out there is a cocky sob pos anyhow. Nice course, but they got a cocky way about themselves out there.

Comments: I just went to golf for the first time today and apparently haven't paid any attention to local news the past 6 months about local Golf.
Sycamore, an executive 9 we liked for practice, closed. Brandywine, closed. Hawthorne Valley, closed. Wicked Woods, closed.
This is a very disappointing pattern. And where do all these park systems get the money to gobble up these courses such as Astorhurst, Valley View, Wicked Woods, etc..,

Comments: Could the golfing weather be much worse? This fkin rain needs to quit already. The courses are all soggy as hell and nearly unplayable. There's no end in site to it either; next week mostly rain. The whole month of April was a bust for the most part. Fkin May starting out the same way. If it never rained again I'd be good with it.
